2012 race report and photos

This new race based at Hollins Farm campsite, Far Arnside filled the slot vacated by the Eaves Wood Trail race and proved to be much more challenging with some testing climbs on the “out and back” route to the trig point on the summit of the Knott via Arnside Park woods and sea level at New Barns Bay.

Judging by the positive responses, the 133 senior runners and 65 juniors enjoyed the course and venue (with an award winning facilities block!)  No doubt this was all helped along by the good weather on the day and the excellent tea and cake stall.Despite the wet year even the parking field proved to be one of the driest in Cumbria ,much to the organiser’s relief.

Dallam Running Club would like to thank the landowners ,New Barns Farm and the National Trust ,for their co-operation with course planning and Holgates Caravan Parks for offering us the new race venue and their continuing support.

Hopefully we'll get the necessary permissions for the race to go ahead again next year on the equivalent Sunday in the calendar ( normally the day after the Tour of Pendle ,so it doesn't clash with Dunnerdale or Kirkbymoor)
